Was too busy fighting my way through them to have time to make vids. This video is the sum of all my promises so far, it shows 39 base fights, none of it seen before. This represents about half of the large base fights we had, disk space and FRAPS issues in the intense fights kept me from frapsing it all. I had to take 4-6 seconds of each fight, I tried to pick key moments, so that anyone who was there should remember each one. If you doubt the potential for player-owned bases in your city to make PvP truly awesome, this video is for you. That goes for the devs too. |

Mostly a collection of videos taken on the scene over 4 months, chronicles how two zealots on opposite sides of the GCW at first try to do their sworn duty to their cause and fight. Being faced with each other in life or death combat, they then find that true fulfillment lies in tirelessly hunting and killing each other. Just a few highlights of actual footage from the video: - Genildor's 300th BH mission - Vader's Landing in Theed (when an overt group of rebs took him on ... and lost :/) - The now-infamous "Veteran's Day Massacre" at the Theed Palace I counted 60 different players pictured in the events, both reb and imp, I started to list them in the credits but nah, you guys are all extras :) Took me 4 months 12 days to put this stuff all together enjoy I'm not doing it again lol |

I used a 75m rifle, and paint target and deadeye shot the most, opened up with WPG and Seismic whenever imps (or NPC's) were close, to spread the AOE's. Of course, Odec was charging in with his Nym's as usual, if my particle resolution was lower you could see him, the explosions from his Officer specials tearing apart the ranks can be seen anyways. Tactics in this fight were like this: The imps had big numbers on us just 30 minutes earlier, we staged two fights west of the big gate in Coro, the imps beat us there twice in close fights, then we went directly from the Coronet cantina to the front of the Coronet Starport, killed the imps there, and got behind the main group, they were expecting the same line of attack, and had to turn around to meet us there. This video is taken after we secured the front of the starport and were dealing with the imperial counterattack. |

I started making this video in late December 2005 to protest SOE taking player bases out of the game, during a time when SWG was nearing a dead end. PvP was no more exciting than a friendly duel. I logged into Mining Outpost, Dantooine to a dead game, having been overt and guild warring 5 guilds, yet having nothing to do. On February 17th 2006, SOE gave in to the playerbase and announced that player bases would return to SWG, and I decided to make the video a glimpse of things to come, for the newer players who missed out on the last time player bases were important. I hosted an event on less than two days notice, on a Wednesday night, that involved using a disabled player base like an old school base raid, where the imperials would have to kill my dancer and keep her dead without a rez for 30 minutes, to win the event. (Essentially the way base slicing used to work when it was a Master Smuggler's task) 76 Imperials and around 40 Rebels showed up for the fight, which was the most intense fight many newer players had ever seen. War is here now, the great base wars are back, but for all you who missed the darkest era of SWG, here was the video that helped show people what the GCW once was, and was destined to become again :) EDITED January 2010: This video has had over 7,000 downloads over the four years since it was made and still counting, even with the base wars ancient history once again. Much love for everyone who believed in player bases, and player driven PVP content, no matter how they trash our bases now, they can't ever take away from us what we did.
