I wanted to play an RnR game, so I naturally didn't tell anyone who I really was in PotBS. Lying when necessary, sorry guyz.

I did play Loralie Lafitte on Bonny, named after the famous French P-rat Jean LaFitte.

A number of Sunrunner players were rolling P-Rat on Antigua, so I anonymously rolled French (originally to have fun killin' them), and joined the most awesome PotBS faction ever built, pre-merger French Antigua.

France was a longshot underdog on Antigua, we turned out nearly all of our captains to port battles, mostly FT's and Privateers, but couldn't even fill them up. We all sunk every time, in battle after battle, the other nations hit us hardest in the first two maps for easy contention points.

But if you were a French sailor, you had all the respect of every other French sailor, across guild lines there was total unity. If a French captain saw another in trouble, he would intervene to help, no matter the odds.

So I never joined any French guild, and I never accepted others into mine. I just made "Day of Reckoning" for my alts.

France, though facing impossible odds, never ever stopped fighting, or made excuses, after every post I used to say:

The rising tide is blue.
(French-controlled ports in PotBS were "blue" on the map)

When I first started saying that, people just laughed at it, including us. We didn't care, we had more fun rebuilding our ships and sinking them with our faction than anyone else had winning in theirs.

Before the mergers happened, we were in first place, even the once-invincible Spanish could not reclaim their own ports from us.

Here is the video of our first-ever port victory, enjoy it with us, and keep in mind these guys enjoyed fighting together sink or swim.
